NASPO and Canadian Public Procurement Council (CPPC) Mark One-Year Partnership Milestone in Advancing Global Procurement Excellence

The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) and the Canadian Public Procurement Council (CPPC) are celebrating a transformative first year of strategic partnership, marking significant progress in their shared mission to advance excellence in public procurement across North America.

This collaboration, initiated in early 2023, emerged alongside NASPO’s establishment of the Procurement Professionals Alliance, a global non-profit organization designed to empower procurement professionals through knowledge sharing, skillset development, establish best-in-class certifications, and universally recognizing the procurement profession as a distinguished career path.

“Our partnership with CPPC represents a pivotal step toward global recognition of public procurement as a true profession,” said Lindle Hatton, NASPO CEO. “This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to establishing universal standards and certifications that transcend national boundaries.”

Key achievements from the first year of partnership include:

  • Cross-organizational participation in conferences and leadership activities
  • Shared leadership responsibilities on the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC), which maintains an international presence
  • Collaborative efforts in professional development and certification programs

Looking ahead, both organizations are preparing to undertake a significant standards-setting initiative led by the Canadian Federal Government. This project further demonstrates the partnership’s commitment to establishing cohesive procurement practices across North America.
