NASPO Contributes $25,000 to the California Wildfire Relief Efforts

The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) announced today a donation of $25,000 to support ongoing relief efforts for communities affected by the devastating wildfires in southern California.

The fires across Los Angeles County have forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes and caused extensive damage to residential and commercial properties. The blazes, which started in early January amid unusually dry conditions, have already consumed over 15,000 acres of land. Emergency response teams from multiple jurisdictions have been working around the clock to contain the fires, which have been exacerbated by strong Santa Ana winds. Local authorities have established several emergency shelters to accommodate displaced residents, while first responders continue their efforts to protect communities and critical infrastructure.

“In times of crisis, it’s crucial that organizations come together to support communities in need,” said Lindle Hatton, NASPO CEO. “Through this donation, we hope to help contribute to immediate and long-term relief efforts to those affected in California. Our thoughts are with the residents, first responders, and all those working tirelessly to protect and eventually rebuild these communities.”

NASPO remains committed to supporting communities in crisis and encourages other organizations to join the relief efforts.
