Uncategorized Press Release The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) launches a celebration of Procurement Month this March and encourages states to recognize their local procurement staff.
Public procurement is an essential function of state government, providing for the purchase of goods and services necessary for the safe and effective operations of the states. Through the application of fiscal responsibility and procurement best practices, the state procurement offices of each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and territories of the United States benefit state agencies and citizens alike.
NASPO applauds the work done by state procurement staff to meet the needs of their state through market research, the administration of effective negotiations, and the monitoring of state contracts.
“State procurement staff are essential to a working government, and NASPO is proud to support them through professional education, research, and innovative procurement strategies. We appreciate the work they do every month, but we are happy to help shine a spotlight on their work during Procurement Month,” said Lindle Hatton, NASPO Chief Executive Officer.
