Green Purchasing Pulse Blog NASPO is pleased to announce that we will be accepting applications for the 2020 Green Purchasing Technical Assistance Funds (GPTAF) beginning Monday, February 3, 2020, via the NASPO Network.

NASPO’s GPTAF supports Member  states in their development of sustainability policies, programs, and resources related to environmental issues and solutions. Through GPTAF, NASPO seeks to leverage the purchasing power of state governments

to conserve energy and natural resources
limit environmental pollution and waste
improve public health
encourage clean technologies
create cost-savings opportunities

Each state’s central procurement office is eligible to apply for up to $10,000 to assist in establishing, implementing and enhancing sustainable purchasing. Applications for the GPTAF will be accepted and approved on a first-come, first-serve basis until the deadline (which is explicitly stated on the application), or until funds are exhausted. All applications must be reviewed, acknowledged and signed by a NASPO Primary Member to be considered for award. Please send all inquiries related to the funds here.

Join us Tuesday, February 11th at 3:00 pm ET for the 2019 Green Purchasing Technical Assistance Funds (GPTAF) Report Out Presentation. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

During this webinar, attendees will hear presentations from a few of the 2019 GPTAF awardees. Presenters from Minnesota, Washington, Maryland, and New Hampshire will discuss their state’s 2019 approved applications, and their progress in the sustainable initiative. The presentation will serve as an opportunity for other states to hear how the funds were used, and hopefully, inspire procurement officials who may not be familiar with sustainability issues. The presentation is open to anyone who wants to attend.
